We really had a magical Christmas this year!!!

Side Tables Makeover

I was looking for an adequate side tables for quite a while. I wanted to add some sparkle and drama to our living room. Finally I have found these two tables:

 

They were way too dark for my taste and - because of the colour - they seemed to be too ponderous, so I decided to refinish them. After a few hours of sanding the old surfaces and fiIling the holes with a wood filler, I was able to finally paint them.



Using a special type of primer and furniture paint, I was trying to create the effect I would be happy with. 

 

 

At the end I added some glamour using silver finish.

 

And here is the finished product:

 

 

  

 

 



Shelf Unit Makeover

This shelf unit has been purchased for $5. It was waiting in our garage for its big moment and finally I had a chance to refinish it. Currenly I am working on preparing a new room for my boys and I thought that it could be a perfect addition to the table and chairs I already showed you in the previous post. This time I will try to show you step by step how I made this makeover.

It is great when you have a helping hand somewhere around the house, and I am so lucky to have one!

First we scraped the old varnish and paint.

 

 

Than we had to cut new backwall from a fibreboard:

 

 

Next step - I painted everything white:

 

 

Than I painted a nice pattern on the backboard using roller and tape. 



 

 

And voila!

I am so looking forward to see those pieces in my boys room!!

 

 

Toddler Furniture Set

It has been a while since my last post. There was a terrible flu attack in my house - so everything else had to wait for better times. But do not worry - I have done some projects and the effects are adequate so I will be more than happy to share it with you.

 

Here is a furniture set I have found during summer at a garage sale:

Reusing of what we already have is never bad thing. I would even say it is actually better because why would you like to buy the exact same table or shelf  that thousands of other people already have? 

Giving to those old pieces a new life is almost a guarantee, that you have something special like no on else in the world.
